Explore 20a Mountpleasant, a multi-purpose building that provides a 4-bedroom dwelling, over a basement containing an architecture studio and a street level shop-front style exhibition and gathering space. Situated on a plot previously used as a shop premises and the rear garden of an historic dwelling on Mountpleasant Square, sitting between two Georgian terraces and the prominent red brick Mountpleasant Inn – the design of the project aimed to merge these contexts. The building was a prototype for the work methods of the practice and has informed future projects.

This building was designed by Gró Works, an architecture practice with a focus on crafted, thoughtful and delightful spaces. Their interests lie in complex but practical design, in solutions born out of collaboration with makers and in the serendipity of the unexpected.
