While the Biennale is still drawing huge crowds in Venice, this will be the first chance to hear the pair speak in Dublin following the opening in May. On the eve of Open House Dublin they will reveal their vision behind the work of their acclaimed exhibitionFreespace, the 16th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, and the challenges of delivering the biggest architecture event in the world. As directors of Dublin-based firm Grafton Architects, Farrell and McNamara have been responsible for some of the most acclaimed public buildings in the world. In 2016, the practice’s new University Campus for UTEC Lima, Peru won the inaugural RIBA International Prize in 2013, Grafton Architects’ University of Limerick Medical School was shortlisted for the 2013 Stirling Prize, in 2008 the Universita Luigi Bocconi in Milan was crowned World Building of the Year. In 2018 Grafton Architects were awarded the RIAI Gold Medal for Architecture 2007-2009 for the Universita Luigi Bocconi.
