Saturday 13 October, 11.00am – 5.00pm

This beautiful mews, restored by Irish Landmark Trust, is located at the rear of number 63 Merrion Square, Royal Society of Antiquaries, and is one of the most significant survivals of a complete 18th Century Dublin townhouse. The mews house, with its own garden and coach yard, survives in its original form complete with its stalls and coach house. The stables have been conserved and given new life as a place to rest and water the horses of the Mounted Unit of An Garda Siochana, while they are on duty in the city centre.

First-come basis: Just turn up and look out for Open House Dublin volunteers. The Mews and the stables will be open (providing that the stables are not in use by the Garda Mounted unit that day).

Designed by: Restoration by Gráinne Shaffrey
Building Date: 1792/93 Restoration 2007
Location: Fitzwilliam Lane, Dublin 2
