Sunday 15 October

Fernhill House and Gardens is currently undergoing redevelopment to become a regional public park, following acquisition by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. Formerly a substantial family residence, this 34 hectare site just South of the Enniskerry Road encapsulates gardens, parkland, woodland and agricultural land. Dating to around 1723, the Fernhill estate forms an important component in the make-up of the fringes of Dublin City, its elevated position providing views over Dublin Bay. The intention for Fernhill Park and Gardens is to develop the site into an amenity that is mutually beneficial to the local community but also to create an attraction for visitors, in close proximity to Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather.
