Appearances can be deceiving. This is certainly the case with 9/9a Aungier Street. Behind an unassuming, 20th Century façade remains a house surviving from 1664. Within the oldest, most intact domestic structure in Dublin City lies an original staircase, roof structure, medieval-style timber-framing, 17th Century plan and remnants of original paint and plaster finishes which pre-date Georgian Dublin by over half a century. 9/9a is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Aungier Street, an elite 17th century development, and a living reminder of a cityscape and inheritance now obscured, but not lost. Come join us for tours of this artefact of a forgotten Dublin, and discover what more than meets the eye. Tours will include the first, second and third floors.

First-come basis: Just turn up and look out for Open House Dublin volunteers. Last tour at 4:00pm
