How Does it Work?
Our Open House Dublin (OHD) guides and volunteers will be at each building to greet and assist you. Building tours are led by the architect or a person very familiar with the building. They will share their knowledge and insight and are keen to chat and welcome your questions.
All OHD tours are completely FREE!
Open House Building Tours
The majority of our tours are on a first come first serve basis so just turn up during the listed opening times and join the next available tour. The last tour of the day leaves 30 minutes before advertised unless stated otherwise.
For a small number of tours, a lottery operates due to restricted numbers, security or the sensitive nature of the building. You can register for Lottery tours on the website from 11 September until 24 September.
Names are drawn at random. We do ask that you register only once per individual building. It doesn’t increase your chances!
Open House Plus
Explore our Open House Plus programme including walking, cycling and boat tours, exhibitions, workshops and discussions.
Please arrive 10-15mins before the tour start time.
Please follow the booking instructions on each event page.
Open House Junior
Open House Junior events have been woven around the theme of A City in Motion. An exciting mix of workshops and tours will provide entertaining and stimulating experiences for all ages.
Help us help you
Please give us your feedback through our online survey or fill out a short questionnaire available from volunteers.
We need to know if you like what we do and how we can do it better, so that we can continue to improve OHD each year!
Where to get more information
This year the OHD Info Hub is based in the IAF’s HQ, 15 Bachelors Walk, Dublin Monday, 8 October – Sunday, 14 October, 12pm – 4pm. Here our OHD volunteers will be happy to assist you with booking, general queries and lottery registration. Pop in for a chat or call 087 3337144.
We’re here to help – all OHD volunteers and guides are graciously giving up their time to make Open House Dublin a fantastic success, so please be patient and expect queues. If you have any queries about becoming a volunteer please contact Lena at email@example.com
The opening times, security arrangements and refusal of entry are controlled by the owners of each building. Please respect building owners and their privacy, and be mindful of noise and photo-taking.
Some buildings have limited space and access.
Participation in any OHD event is at your own risk.
Tours are organised by the participating institutions in cooperation with the Irish Architecture Foundation. The Irish Architecture Foundation has taken all reasonable care to verify the information provided and cannot accept responsibility for any variation from the details published here.
