The reconciliation rooms of St Teresa’s Church were originally the sacristy of the church before it was extended at the end of the 19th century which looks onto Johnson’s Court - a narrow noisey pedestrian street. The main challenge was how to bring daylight into the rooms while insulating against the noise from buskers outside. The original round-headed sash windows have been refurbished and the screen between the rooms and the waiting area is steel framed with translucent and opal glass. The floor is white terrazzo with marmorino plaster on the walls and ceiling to reflect the natural light into the spaces. Latticed oak screens, oak chairs and oak tables finish off these beautiful private sanctuaries.
