The Military Archives, opened in April 2016, is part of the government’s 1916 centenary capital projects. The Military Archives arguably houses the single largest collection of Irish revolutionary material in the world alongside records of national interest including an extensive collection of United Nations missions since 1958. The project included a refurbishment of a 19th century hospital and a purpose built repository with state of the art environmental and safety features to ensure the long term preservation and access to Ireland's military heritage.
