The shape of this house is determined by the curve of the street line and the parabolic form of its copper roof which in turn relates to the landmark copper dome of Rathmines church. The exterior materials - limestone, glass, timber and copper - and forms - planes, curves and angles - have been carried inside to create the interior spaces, which are open-plan and functionally flexible. The dynamic internal layout makes use of varying levels to break up and separate functions.

First-come basis: Just turn up and look out for Open House Dublin volunteers. Please note that Kearney House will close for lunch on both days between 2.00pm and 3.00pm. Visitors may also be requested to remove their shoes upon entering the building. This tour is not suitable for children. Photography is not allowed on this tour.
