Facebook's International Headquarters Dublin was designed as offices by Gehry Partners LLP in 2014; the building is part of a larger Daniel Libeskind scheme at Grand Canal Docks. Frank Gehry is one of America’s best-known architects. A champion of expressivity and iconic design, Gehry's work reflects a spirit of experimentation coupled with a respect for the demands of professional practice. Gehry's style disrupts expectations and he has remained largely unaligned with broader stylistic movements. Gehry Partners LLP has designed several buildings for Facebook worldwide. The Dublin office design reflects Facebook's open culture and Mark Zuckerberg outlined the Facebook/Gehry goal to create the perfect space for teams to cooperate and innovate; “There are lots of small spaces where people can work together, and it’s easy for people to move around and collaborate with anyone here.” Gehry’s interiors are consummately functional, pared back and wholly unapologetic with clear respect for the materials used and the requirement from those materials. Studio Libeskind originally created several soaring glass façades in diagonal pleats that surround the public plaza designed by Martha Schwartz in 2010/11.
