Sunday 16 October, 3.00pm – 4.00pm
In these fun family workshops we will be inspired by the architecture of the Hugh Lane Gallery which is a striking combination of classical and modern, old and new. Join us on Saturday for two wonderful workshops. Join artist Felicity Clear in our first workshop - "Arch, Line, Light" - to create a sculpture and drawing installation inspired by architectural shapes, such as arches and squares. The sculptures created will be suspended in Gallery 13 to create shadows. These shadows will then be used to create a collaborative wall drawing to complete the installation. // Liliane Puthod will lead the second workshop - "Brackets upon Brackets" - in which you can create an ever-evolving sculpture for our Front Hall, using the familiar material of shelf brackets and plants from Ikea to create a different kind of imagined domestic space – using these everyday objects in a new way. // Finally, on Sunday, Janine Davidson will help you explore designing your own imaginary art gallery of the future and consider what kind of art and events you would like to see there. All events are free and drop in, so you can stay for as little or as long as you like. Please ask at reception to find out where to go. Suitable for all ages.
