A bold, modern building that dramatically altered its site on Dame Street is divisive for some, and much loved by others. Innovative for its time, the floors are suspended from two concrete service cores that were cast continuously in place, with floor trusses constructed at ground level and then lifted into place. Elegant paired steel hangers run past the continuous bands of floor-to-ceiling glazing and granite cladding, carrying the building above its pedestal and public plaza.
