Hear all about the colourful history of this 18th century townhouse's past occupants, from politicians to interior designers, and from rack and ruin to restored splendor. The house has gone through many changes over the past 250 years and in 2002 was incorporated into the Millennium Wing of the National Gallery of Ireland. It is now home to ‘Friends of the NGI’, as well as other Gallery function rooms. Within, there are fine examples of late 18th century neoclassical plasterwork ceilings, stunning gilded and painted finishes, an ornate plaster wall, and Egyptian style columns which date back to the late 1800s when interior decorators, Thomas Panter & Son occupied the building.
