The house forms part of a terrace built in Dundrum in the 1870s. Then farmland, the terrace of cottages was built to house farm workers. The current owner, designer Sarah Lafferty, purchased the house in 2003, and after a devastating house fire in 2005, in which the house was badly damaged, she extensively renovated the property. The original Georgian facade was restored, and everything beyond was reshaped into an unexpectedly contemporary space. Particular emphasis was given to maximising the small footprint. Clever design provides this small house with a feeling of openness and light.
